Oil and Water

Just watched the video posted on shooting water from a bottle. That looked like a fun challenge. I recently played with Oil and Water,Used the idea from the Photographic magazine, Issue 10.
Put oil in the water of a clear dish, then suppended it between books, laying a colored wrapping paper below it. Stirred it and kept shooting from above it. Kind of a fun thing to do on a rainy day. I also used a flash below the dish.

Would vinegar and oil work? I have some lettuce for clean up...
