recommend a tripod

13 years 1 month ago #38478 by Zezzer
Can someone recommend a specific tripod? I bought one from Walmart not long after I got it. After it broke, I got a Sunpak from Amazon, again not expecting much and it is actually not as bad as I thought it would be but, it is so freakin' short, I didn't bother to look at the max height.
I know I am not going to get anything spectacular for a cheap price but I would like to stay as cheap as I can to get a decent tripod. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Any ideas? I am not real big on the 'extras' like being able to invert the camera upside down. I just want a sturdy tripod. Thanks

Try Slik tripods, I heard they are good and not too expensive.

manfrotto is a good quality tripod, but the price range may be more then you want to spend.

Don't go cheap on a tripod, or you will end up with ten to fifteen useless units. Find the one you need without looking at prices, then save until you can buy it.....

I've had my Bogen/Manfrotto tripod for 15 years and it is just as good as the day I bought it. you can figure on a lifetime of use from a good tripod. I also have one of their monopods that is sturdy and still in great shape at 13 years old. Dont compromise on your tripod

I'll never sell my Bogen 3046 tripod or the 3047 head. Bought it used in primo condition for $150.

I've since bought a vanguard carbon fiber tripod for hiking.....vanguard has come a long way in quality. very reasonably priced too.

It is what it is.

:agree: I had a great lightweight Slik until some idiot (mirror) knocked it off a shelf.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Any of you heard of Feisol tripods? I sent email asking about these and waiting on answer.

Did you happen to see a order phone number? I just checked on B&H and Adorama and could only find one listed with Adorama? I called Adorama and the guy wasn't much help
