Open up a browser in your favorite photography supply website and browse through the hard case options ordered by the top ranked and you'll no doubt be browsing through pages and pages of one brand: Pelican. Pelican sets and industry standard for hard cases, with top quality hard cases that are air-tight and not just water-sealed but will float in water. With a top-notch construction, it's easy to see why Pelican is the big name for hard cases. Hard cases tend to be less comfortable to tote around though. The Pelican 1510 helps with the wheels and pulling handle, so it's easy to transport through an airport or really anywhere with even ground.
The downside to a Pelican? They tend to be a bit pricey. But, once you buy a Pelican case, you likely won't need to pick up another and the protection is worth it for many photographers, particularly when traveling. The other downsides apply to every hard case--they're heavy and not the easiest to lug around. But, if you want the best hard case for your camera gear, pick a Pelican. The Pelican 1510 is good option because of the wheels and carry-on dimensions, but there are smaller, more affordable outfits as well that are just as well-built.
