Description

The U160 Urban Elite Half Case camera backpack combines the security of a Pelican hard case with the portability of a backpack. True to the Pelican name, the bag is both crushproof and waterproof. The backpack is well designed, constructed with ballistic nylon and two hard top plates. Pelican has added an ergonomic strap system with lumbar support as well as a removable waist belt. The half pack style leaves a large compartment for extras, whether you need to tuck in an extra jacket or have a lot of smaller accessories to pack in.

The waterproofing and crushproof plates, however, make the bag quite heavy at about seven pounds. The bag also doesn't fit very much considering the weight--it will hold a DSLR, two lenses and a flash, though the top compartment can also hold a tablet. But, for photographers that travel through extreme conditions to get their shots, the peace-of-mind that the Pelican U160 offers is worth that extra weight.
