Description

Nikon's tradition workhouse professional lens recently got an update. The AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR offers an excellent wide aperture and a versatile range from wide angle to standard, making it a popular option among wedding photographers. Images from this lens are very sharp. The lens scored relatively high on image quality testing overall.

While the lens is sharp, bright and versatile, the image quality isn't quite what you'd expect for a $2,000+ lens. The sharpness is there, but there is a bit of vignetting and chromatic aberration. While much better than a kit lens, it doesn't perform as well as prime lenses in image quality testing. Despite the lenses shortcomings, it's a good options for photographers who need to cover a variety of focal lengths quickly and with wide apertures.
