Description

The Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L II USM is one of the manufacturer's best zoom lenses. It scored high in image testing, especially considering the zoom capabilities. The standard telephoto is the workhorse of many professional photographers and it's easy to see why. The zoom range is more versatile than the typical kit lens and the aperture much wider, perfect for bokeh and low lighting conditions.

While the lens is one of Canon's best zoom options, the price tag matches, listed at just under $2,000. The lens also doesn't include an image stabilization system--while that's less essential for shorter zooms, the high price tag would have been better justified with that extra feature. While the lens is heavier than a prime, it's actually lighter than comparable zooms from other companies. Despite the price and lack of stabilization, this lens is one of Canon's most versatile zooms with excellent image quality too.
