The Vanguard 263AB is one of Amazon's best selling tripods -- and for good reason. The construction and feature set offers a stability and versatility that's nearly impossible to find for under $200. Aluminum legs keep the camera steady, even in windy conditions, while allowing for a respectable 15 pound capacity. Flipping leg locks, quick adjust leg angles and a quick release plate make setup simple. Along with being able to choose from three different leg angles, the center column rotates, allowing the tripod to be used for macro and low angle shots, despite still being comfortable enough for even taller photographers to use.

Vanguard didn't skimp on features for this versatile tripod even with an excellent price point -- but the aluminum build makes this a heavier option over other tripods. The three leg sections are behind that stability, but that also means that it has a larger folded profile over the less sturdy but more compact options with more leg sections. If you don't plan on trying to fit the Vanguard 263AB in an overhead bin on an airplane, this tripod is an excellent buy for the price.
