Epson FastFoto FF-680W scanner
When this was first recommended, this Epson was actually priced much higher than some of the other options. But I decided to give it a shot (no pun intended). I waited for a month or so before buying. Actually to be truthful, I was searching for a discount code. Which I never found. I did end up getting the 2nd generation as you get double the DPI and wifi. But still $599 was a grip for a scanner.
BUT, I had between my photos and my parents nearly 50 years of photos that I wanted to digitize. And I will say, this scanner was the best investment I made last year and lives up to the reviews it gets.
This thing works flawless with the exception that a few older curled B&W prints, came out looking a bit strange. But other than that, this this works like a charm, it's fast and did all the work.
