Foot Bridge

I was shooting the ducks & geese at a county park. As I was leaving, I saw the foot bridge through the trees & thought it would be a good photo. What ya think?

I like the framing and reflections. I think I would crop out the dark tree on the right. It is too distracting.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I would probably leave the dark tree but crop out everything to the right of it so there is only the dark tree on the right. I would also crop some of the left and the bottom out. There is nothing going on in those areas that supports the subject. That's my 2 cents worth.

This is why I hang out here... Thank you all for your input. I just hope I can learn this editing thing & become a good photographer, and not just a picture taker. LOL

Seriously, thanks for the input. I love this photo, & would really love to make it a GOOD photo.

Join the club! I'm still learning much about digital but have shot film for years... I think whichever you use, getting what you want in-camera, at the time you're taking the photo can work better than trying to change it later.

I agree the tree on the right isn't doing much in the image; it could work to help frame the scene (the bridge). I imagine you'll be out shooting this subject again; I'd try reframing it a bit. Maybe step forward (if possible!), or to the left, or try a different lens, to get that tree where you want it to be.

Also it can help to notice your background, I learned over time to make my eye move around and see everything in the viewfinder. There's a little signpost way in the background, it might enhance the photo just a bit to find a vantage point where that won't show so much.

Good 'seeing' the photo. I've done that sometimes, don't see quite what I want and walk around a bit and then turn and see it. I like this photo too, some editing would get you a real nice image, and it might be one of those that you'll go to again, looks like it would be worth it.

Thank you. I WILL be going back to this place. When I do, I guess I should get out of the pick-up. This one was shot from the drivers seat, stopped in the road leading in & out of the park.

LOL I've done that too! - well not from a pickup truck, but I've seen something and shot from the car... This has potential, might be worth a longer stop sometime. If you're 'seeing' shots you're probably on the right track.

Its a workable composition its just the flat light that lets it down, try it at dawn or dusk, the golden light times.

Can't do that. The park hours will not allow it. BUT, it was cloudy that day so maybe a sunny day.

Thanks for the input & idea though.
