the ocean ate my sock

another shot from my roadtrip down the west coast, sadly i'm not sure any of my other images will be able to match up to my last post. i almost didn't go out shooting this particular evening because i was exhausted, however i'm glad i did as it was one of the most gorgeous sunsets we got the whole trip!

i wandered down the steep trail from our camp site wearing one runner and sock (cuz i coudln't find the other one, hahahaha i was such a mess!) and one sandal. after i realized i had placed my tripod in a wave zone i decided it would be best to take off my shoe and sock and toss them "out of range" turns out the ocean was hungry and ate my sock. thankfully it spared my shoe and gave me this wonderful shot.

2 minute exposure, shot with a 10 stop filter and a lee 0.9 soft grad.

c&c appreciated, are the colours maybe to cool? should the image be brightened a bit? any other thoughts?

This is a wonderful shot. Thanks for sharing the details about the sock. When I'm on a beach, ever, I'll be looking for your sock. :woohoo:

Play with the white balance. The 10 stop filter already has given this a long exposure surrealistic look and feel to the image. You might find that making it even cooler might give you a nice quality. Then try heating it up some - then a lot. You might be amazed at the hues and accompanying moods that develop. Thanks for providing us with yet another outstanding image from your travels... :judge: :judge: :judge:

I love it. The cloud movement is perfect. Well worth a sock :P

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Fantastic, as are all of your other posted shots! I would gladly feed the ocean my sock AND shoe, if the ensuing shot was as wonderful!!! :judge: :judge:

Just for grins I would also try cropping it square.

Great shot. It seems you're liking the extreme slow exposures. It's addicting.
