I Heart Nature

I Heart Nature is from my Flora collection and was composed at Hitchcock Woods in Aiken, SC.  I wanted as much detail as I could get on the leaf surface, but, at the same time, I needed to limit the detail in the background.  In a situation such as this, your Depth Of Field preview functionality (if your camera has that capability) will pay for itself.  That will allow you to keep making adjustments until you have got the necessary compromise between subject and background dialed in.

This is really beautiful. The shape is perfect and the color is vibrant.

Yes, vibrant to looking not so natural, Steven?

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Image certainly fits the title. Would be nice to know the plant. You were on another forum I visited but seem to have disappeared. Can't remember which forum though.

Great composition. The DOF is perfect. The symmetry of nature is always a "best" shot!!

The colors are bit too much for me, but other than that, everything is fine,
