GBH

These are a couple of captures of the GBH. I was so nervous sneaking in on this fella, as I was for sure he'd hear me long before I was able to get in close. I stayed low, behind a tree line and he didn't see me, til he heard my shutter fire. These guys can really scream!! lol

This one, was a different time and different location. Studied these guys for 1/2 the summer, before I was even able to get a photo.

Thanks for looking and I am always up for comments and critiques to help me improve.

The first shot is a beauty, excellently exposed and framed but the background is a little too dark imho.
The second one is also very nice.Judging from these two images I think you have a very good understanding of shooting wildlife.

I find if you rub fish all over you they let you get really close. Be careful though seagulls will have you for lunch... :woohoo:

Good job. I've stalked a lot of these guys and they usually take off in the wild. :judge:

Two nice images ... The second one may be a tad too "hot" Try a polarizing filter in these situations. It is possible to find GBH's that are very people tolerant and will let you settle in and takes lots of photos.

Love both photos but the 1st is my favourite, lovely texture color and exposure :judge: :judge: :judge:

LOL, that's disgusting Rich! These shots are fantastic, I very rarely get a chance to shoot these birds. Apparently, it's cause I don't do what Rich suggested, I guess I'm doomed to continue seeing them as they're flying away..... ;)

Whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, I check that they have printed No GBH clearly on the menu.

I wouldn't want to eat these magnificent things!

We are in a very rural area, so the ones I've come across here are not accustomed to people. I have seen some places where I can get in close and they aren't so flighty...of course that's when I'm not carrying my camera. I agree , with your comment on the 2nd photo. I honestly didn't even think I could get in close, as I had tried numerous times and failed. I will for sure take my polarizer, next time out in the hot sun.

Chas...All very good tips, but I always bring someone with me and use them for my decoys. They get the fish rub and run . PS...works great with eagles also!! ;) LOL

Thanks all for looking and commenting :)

Second one is my favorite by far. The composition and color are very good.
