Not "just another poem....."

This really happened to me.....

First of all, my friend David (from flickr) helped me with the photo-I don't know how to add a different sky to my photos yet. I had passed by this statue many times this year and each time, This is what I envisioned when I looked at her..... and I think she goes perfectly with this story and the poem which follows. Thank you for letting me share this with you....

We were being hit with a horrible snowstorm again, and a friend of mine had to go to a meeting and asked if I'd take her. So I ventured out into the snow, brought her to the meeting and then took her back home. I hate driving in snow but it seems like I'm always on the road in the middle of a storm. The roads had barely been plowed and my car was sliding all over the place. I swear I still have fingerprints embedded in the steering wheel, I was gripping it so hard. I was so scared, I had tears streaming down my face & finally I just screamed out "God, Please drive my car?!!" Up to that point I hadn't been thinking of God at all, all that filled my being was absolute terror.
This is what happened next....I don't remember driving from that moment on, not until I was pulling into my driveway. This experience changed my life....for That is when I finally knew that I wasn't alone....

Jesus, I saw You....

Had it not happened to me....
I would not have believed,
My mind replays the images....
My soul longs to feel Your touch.

Terror's icy grip
had hold of me that night....
Fear left a pounding heart,
and tears started falling.

I cried out to You,
.......not really believing,
that my words would reach you,
much less...... of what I was to see.

YOU........standing in a garden,
little children wrapped in your arms,
Love, Light and Laughter.......
filled my being with calm.

The moments that followed....
are erased from my mind.
Only the Pure Truth remains,
YOU brought me to safety that night.

A vision....or a memory.....?
Above all, was God's Saving Grace,
What remains is the Knowing:
I never wanted to leave "that Place."

A wonderful experience Shanna, one that will be with you forever.
If you could blend your poem with the image it would be a great inspirational image.
Ask your friend David.

Thank you so much Robbie, I think of this experience every day. I remember thinking that if I could only feel like this forever I'd never want for anything ever again....
That's a wonderful idea, but you know something? I really need to learn how to do that myself, I shouldn't keep relying on other people to fix my stuff for me.... I'll see what I can do O.K? Thank you my friend. :)

John, thank you so much my friend. :)

Thank you so much David, my friend, it wasn't always like this. It did not come easy, for much of my life I had no faith at all. Because of certain events it was easier for me to believe that the Devil existed but not God. Faced with certain death or the willingness to try "something different" was the key to this journey I'm now on. So I know, without a doubt, that it Is possible..... If you are able to find Something to believe in.... that in turn will cause your faith to grow.... :)

I love the poem and the photo. I know how faith doesn't come easy it actually takes the difficulties in life to put on us on the right path and more to keep us there but the difficult times are more tolerable when you have that kind of faith. :judge:

Wow.... thank you for sharing this John, are you on his mailing list? His photography is beautiful and I love all the quotes too. I couldn't agree with Einstein's words more, each breath we take is a miracle...... thank you my friend. :)

Thank you so much lesanne45 ( I'm sorry, I don't know your real name yet). Very wise words, it's like my Daddy says....."the only way Out is Through...." and for those of us who make it to the other side, most likely or hopefully will realize at some point that we didn't do it alone, With that realization, faith can only grow..... Thank you!! :)
