Bluey @ 800mm

I just purchased a new (to me) lens and got a chance to try it out today. It's a Sigma 400mm f5.6 APO MF. The only drawback to it for me is it manual focus only. I've got a lot of practicing to do! I discovered that it works fine with my EC-20 2x teleconverter. Pretty cool! My camera is a 4/3s camera that has a 2x crop factor so if I were to crop something by 1/2, it would bring my total range to 1600mm! This image is uncropped, however.

I would say you got a great lens, great shot

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Thanks, guys. While I may need a lot more practice with manually focusing, I'm sure I'll get it down... eventually. :)

Thanks very much. It was, more or less, a test shot. :)

Yep,lovely shot.Been looking at the Autofocus version which has great reviews but since I uses a 300/4 with a 1.4 TC and great quality that wouldn`t make much sense.
You better start focusing practise on inflight subjects....enjoy the trip.

Thanks! I'm currently awaiting a spare quick release plate for my gimbal head so I can switch lenses without the hassle of QRP switching. And, I've ordered a dedicated 2x converter for the lens. In the meantime, I'll use it on occasion but not like I would without the aforementioned stuff. :)
