I don't know. The oddest thing I have seen in quite a while. I thought at first it was drinking the nectar from the flower but realized that it is eating the yellow parts.

It could be a Camouflaged Looper, the caterpillar of the Wavy-Lined Emerald moth, Synchlora aerata. It's one of the few caterpillars that camouflages itself by attaching bits of plants to its body, usually petals that it chews off its host plant. It's fairly widespread in North America.

:cheer: Dori will be tickled to see this, but I wanted to thank you, too! I spent a couple of hours, yesterday, trying to identify this! If you look at the one in the photo by 'luckybon', it looks identical to Dori's.
