It may be my laptop but they appear dark. I do like to see good contrast between the subject and background. You may need a touch of fill flash to brighten the subject. I like the shots other than that.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

They do appear dark. However, my flowers looked like these weeks ago......

Why so serious?

Thank you, both! Yes, Ernesto, at 6pm on October 2, they looked like this, and that's what I went for. Sort of seemed to fit the idea of the series, end of summer, etc. There was more light earlier, and it was more like this:

BTW, I generally forgo fill flash in similar situations, much as I avoid matrix metering at dusk.

I find this a recurring problem with what I post on PT. Since I am currently working on low available light images, my postings suffer from the algorithms now in use on PT, and appear too muddy and dark. May I ask anyone interested to look at some of these images on Flickr:

www.flickr.com/photos/perlucem/

so as to better evaluate what I was trying to do, and how close I came? :thx2:

They look exactly the same to me on here as they do on flickr. Is your monitor calibrated?

I see it its a blue haze around the pedeals fo the flower. Looks like you did some sort of editing with like a brush tool or something on the flower and it came out of the flowers lines

OK. I'll take a look, and re-edit if necessary. Thanks!
