G'day NS

Okay - would you care to enlighten us 'mere mortals' as to some of the "hows - why's & wherefors" of the image

Camera focus, metering and exposure presets; what lens and settings; and what PP was done to the ex-camera image

Sorry I will brake your heart, Phil but no magic here!
Just a subject in the light on a wood BG in very dim light.

No secret: my usual combo, the usual settings everywhere,
no presets whatsoever, and PP reduced to a minimal DRL.

Recognising the light situation, being attentive when a good
subject enters the scene, having the correct EV compensation
and stubbornly follow the subject as it evolves in the frame.

As image hunter and not a birder, I don't look to document a
subject but to record enough inspiration to sell the shot.

No magic… just hard work. Sorry again!

ADDENDUM.

I tried to explain all that on the other forum
and it got me banned earlier this week.

Go figure.

Yeah!  I think these kinds of shots don't just come right away. You really have to work hard to capture this moment. You are very patient NS.

Thank you Daryl! :P

After so many years and photos, one has to look for new
avenues if not to repeat oneself… no motivation there!
