This is a crop from a full body shot simply because I like the one fly hanging in air.

I almost missed that rogue fly hanging away from her face!   Curious - when you are out on your shoots, how long are your days in the field?

I know this shot is about the fly, which is impeccable timing.  For me this photo pulls me in is the lions eyes, the emotion and the story she would tell if you could.

The big cats tour is 8 full days shooting fly in and out so max time in the field plus a buffer day at the start (we shoot locally) so if you miss your flight due to bad weather etc its not an issue. First day shooting the animals come to us and we shoot from 4 viewing levels plus an underground bunker (awesome ground level perspective), after that its roaming the mara

Actually in terms.of length I find both the male and female are very similar in size, the female is a bit more toned perhaps. The male lions head is ofcourse  bigger and also looks bigher with the mane

I've noticed your shoots, so would you say the cats are your favorite to photograph while on your tours?

hm, Good question Richard. I would say yes, probably Leopards as they are the the most elusive and solitary, they also tend to keep their cubs well hidden.  For me they offer the biggest challenge which adds to the excitement. Although Rhino are also hard to spot but I do normally visit a rhino reserve as part of the tour

I'm really digging how you filled the frame and got this animal at a perfect angle.

I was thinking the same thing.  Animals are easy to look past at times.  But when given the opportunity to look into their eyes, there is such a story to tell.  This cat, I'm sure has a story to tell.  Perfection of a shot.

I don't need no stink'in Signature! ha ha ha

I cut myself and blood gets on my clothes, that is nearly impossible to get out.  These animals eat other animals and have blood all over.  How is this cats fur so clean?

OP - cool photo!
