photographing dogs

I want to take some photos of my two dogs at the same time, but I am having trouble trying to keep them still. The other problem is, one dog will look good for 5 seconds and the other will do something to ruin the picture. I know both dogs and they are comfortable with me but very active. Has anyone got some good advice on how to keep them still at the same time?

try setting up your camera on a tripod and use a cable release. use a treat to get the dogs attention and you should be able to take a great photo by doing that. You'll want to set up the area and have your focus set for that area, now just bring the dogs by offering a treat. You can get then to do some really cute stuff!!

I have 2 dogs and I do get a good pic every once in awhile, they are quite active!!....and I also take pic's at our local animal shelter. Those poor dogs are so excited to get out of the cages that they don't want to keep still...but I've found with all the dogs, including my own..that once you get their attention (however you do it)....have some kind of whistle or something like that and you'll get them looking right at you and they might even tilt there head when you blow the whistle. The tripod set up is a good idea....unless you have an assistant, lol which I don't. : )
