The red and green work well together. Too bad the fawn didn't have that touch of light on its face. Still, a sweet photo though.

Nicely done. I remember the days when the Cove wasn't crowded. I didn't realize then how lucky we were at that time.

Thanks everyone .... Matthew you are right about the light, but we were deep in the woods and found this fawn ... had about 3-4 seconds to try this shot.

Chas ... Much appreciated

Shadowfixer ... I remember those days too. Now I just settle for being at the Cades Cove gate when it opens at sunrise and most days I am gone by the time the crowds wake up, stumble around, stop and eat breakfast, etc. Usually gives me 4-5 hours ...Sometimes I just endure the crowds and enjoy my "home field"

I was there last year about an hour before the gate opened in a drizzling rain and I was about the 15th car in line. The longest it ever took me to make the loop was 3 and 1/2 hours. People were stopping for every dark spot in the weeds. Two people were chasing a bear into the woods that day and 20 people stopped in the road to take pictures of a ground hog 150 yards away with their point and shoots. I was nearly insane by the time I got through there that day. It's still a great place though.
