Introducing myself...

13 years 3 months ago #19985 by RajShaktiKaur
Hi,I"m from Virginia (although not originally - I am the ORIGINAL NJ Housewife:rofl: ... ) Been passionate about photography since the Early '70's when I used to borrow and use my dads' Pentax, then I graduated and bought myself a Canon AE-1 in 1978 - I used that, until my husband bought me a small point and shoot digital around 2000 and liked what I was seeing... I moved into another point and shoot the Fuji Finepix 5100,,temporarily, until I was able to afford the camera I really wanted. Now I shoot primarily with my Canon 7D, sometimes with my XTI. I like shooting nature/macro, and portraits too. On occasion, I will pull out my film camera, too... I had to put the AE-1 to rest, as it no longer worked, but I was able to pick up a nice Canon Eos Rebel Ti, which I enjoy using for B/W photography.
The things I enjoy when I'm NOT photographing the world around me is reading, Horseback riding, occasionally get on the back of my husbands Iron Horse with him, and I love to spend time gardening in my yard, too.

The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer. ~Author Unknown

Welcome from across the Commonwealth (near Richmond), Joanne. While still into film, and after the Agfa, I had a 5100 also. For me it was the XT then XSi plus P&S Panasonics.
Glad you are enjoying yourself and found PT, the fun place to be.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Ahh, Baydream... Richmond! Not TOO far, about 1 1/2 hours from me, I think... I've been through Richmond, but have not been TO Richmond... My (adult) children have been there, and my son does some sort of Climbing at an outside wall somewhere there...

PHotobod and Rob... I guess I am in the right place, :toocrazy: then, if this is the asylum!!!! :silly:

Thankx for the welcome!B)
