Auto focus points

What is the industry standard in typical number of auto focus points a DSLR should have these days? Average I mean :thumbsup:

the highest my D300 has is 51 points. I leave it at 21. Don't know about a standard.

Ok, got ya!! I didn't think there was a standard either. Have you tried the 3d tracking?

I usually use just 1 focus point, I find the camera gets confused with too many points and wants to focus on something I don't want it too.

The 3-D tracking is too slow for the things I would use it for, fast moving autos, so I usually use manual focus prefocused for an area. The release is set for focus priority. This works best for me.

No matter how fast I go, there's always someone slower in front of me.

D3s, d700 and d3x all have the same i believe.

Canon 1d mark 4 and 1ds mark 3 have 45.

When the last candle has been blown out
and the last glass of champagne has been drunk
All that you are left with are the memories and the images-David Cooke.

Not yet, still use a kind of trap focus on moving objects, (similar to graflex), but I am going to give 3D tracking a try soon.......:)
