So do you think the DSLR market is getting top heavy?

So to phrase it another way, just like the real estate market is a bubble at times, do you think the DSLR industry could be a bubble?

A bubble qualifies as a "bubble" only so long as it's followed by a collapse. And I can't think of anything that will collapse the DSLR market. Now whether the share for certain brands might collapse is a different topic . . .

Good point. For example Pentax. They just brought out their Q camera in an attempt (IMHO) to claw back into the market a bit. The concept of a small mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that has semi-retro styling is interesting, but have they done enough?!

IMHO not quite. It mean it might be a nice camera, but what the Fujifilm X100 has taught us is people want a rangefinder style camera at cheaper than Leica prices. The first company to bring out a X100 style camera with interchangeable lenses will strike gold IMHO. The pentax Q doesn't quite hit the mark IMHo because it doesn't have the rangefinder style viewfinder. It's more a fancy P&S like the Oly Pen and Sony Nex are. Therefore it's only selling feature is it's size....

Now imagine if you will this camera:

With interchangable lenses.....
