Horizonal or Vertical??

I went to an amusement park a few weeks ago & took a picture in a tunnel that I like & would like to frame. I just can't decide if I like it the original horizontal image or the vertical cropped version.. what do you think?

Horizonal (original)

Vertical

Im trying to decide ... the origional looks sharper ... but the vertical cropped makes me dizzy like an amusment park ride should ... Id go with the cropped one cause it has more impact but its close to a tie.

Definitely vertical. If it needs more crop to fit the print format, take it off the top. Get the light off dead center.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Oh No! I thought you had flipped the camera and took a backup shot in portrait mode. I like the vertical position much more. I just wish the IQ didn't have to suffer by cropping. Can you go back and shoot it again but in the vertical and horizontal mode or would that mean riding the ride twice? :woohoo:

:agree: The light at the end should be towards the top of the frame.

here is the pic in an 8x10 sizing... the last vertical i posted was set default from camera so that would have been an 8x12 or 5x7... I think this works much better.

:agree: I think there is too much open space coming from the top. It would look better if there was more railroad track.
