What is your oldest...

I found the camera in a local antique shop, and bought the old safelight (calling it safe being questionable LOL!) from someone clearing out old darkroom supplies. The oldest paper and film I have is from the 30's and 40's, been using the paper to make lumen prints (photograms). (Started another thread about them under Film.)

Probably a Nikon d700.

A pentax k1000 that I got in the early '90s for h.s. photography(I never use it). Until a few weeks ago I was still using the camera bag I got at the same time.

I guess the old Argus twin-lens reflex that's been around probably 60 years.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Yeah, the Argus C3? Now it comes to me. I have two of those somewhere, use to take them whitewater canoeing. Possibly the most rugged camera ever.......:)

A Kodak Retina IIIc, with full Schneider lens kit, accessories and case. It works perfectly, and I try to use it occasionally.

minolta SR T 101, got it from my uncle, has not been used in a very long time. Was wondering if it would be worth it to refurbush the sponge and a cleanin for $200 , Will 35mm film be around any longer?

You might be interested in Karen Nakamura's website, it's a good resource and has a page on your camera - www.photoethnography.com/ClassicCameras/MinoltaSRT101.html . Looks like it could be a keeper.

Not sure if it's worth putting too much money into it, but mechanical cameras aren't necessarily that hard to repair or clean. You might need to have the foam replaced (I think that's what you mean by the sponge). If it's working otherwise maybe run a roll of film thru it and see how the pictures turn out.

Who knows what will happen with film. I suppose it could become less readily available, but about the time Polaroid announced they weren't going to make cameras anymore - they started making Polaroids again. There are still some odd size films like 127 being made or re-spooled (120 film spooled onto a 620 size spool for example).

then its official, Im going to refurbish Uncle Hues camera. Thanks for the link as a matter of fact I read it before. Im sure the Foam (not sponge) needs to be replaced the camera was in a leather bag but not zipped closed and in the basement for years, its kinda dusty but theres 4 lenses with it and a flash that works (with extention cord) and a handful of very scratched filters including a nice yellow and pinkish one. there was a Soligor 28 mm f/2.8 in the bag in very good condition. Also there is a 135mm f 2.8 Dimension lens, when I look into it the walls look kinda wishy washy pattern or some steel color and black and looks like smearing on the inside face of the lens.

Well I heard a good photographer bettter know film and manual focus, Im gonna think of an idea when its done, will post a assignment request when I get the camera back.

Nice classic Brownie there, liam.

Eryck good luck w/your uncle's camera, sounds like you've got the photography 'bug'. Is the brand name of that lens 'Dimension'?? It might be not a good enough lens to bother with, although you could try cleaning it up a bit maybe and see. I though the Minolta might be a little scarcer than some brands to find a lens for, but KEH's last catalog has a pretty varied selection of Minolta lenses.

I've got a camera repair book but don't know if it's still in print, it tells what to use to clean cameras and lenses. Just called 'Camera Maintenance & Repair' by Thomas Tomosy - Book 1 is Fundamental Techniques, Book 2 is Advanced Techniques. If I see your camera in either book I'll post later.
