what program do you need to make a hdr?? i am looking to make my first one but dont know how to put the images together

I've used Photomatix for HDR before. It works well. The latest Ps has the ability to combine pics as HDR too.

Didn't it combine the photos before? Or am I misunderstanding you?

You have to have bracketed shots to get the full effect. You load those into the program, it'll combine them to HDR them. Then you'll have a basic shot to work from with the filters/sliders.

When the last candle has been blown out
and the last glass of champagne has been drunk
All that you are left with are the memories and the images-David Cooke.
