I forgot to ask...

I go though ink often and now thinking about picking up a larger volume of printer ink. It's so annoying when the printer runs out of ink and I have to stop what I'm doing to run down to store to get replacement.

What I wanted to know is does printer ink go bad? So if I pick up a case of ink, do I need to worry about it going dry in 6 months?

I usually buy the double pack. When I insert the last one it goes on my shopping list. The use by/sell by date on my latest pack is still more than a year off. I'd say you should be safe with a six month supply - give or take.

Best Buy often runs their "bag" promotion where they sent out a paper shopping bag and almost everything you can fit in gets a 15% discount. I stock up then. I also buy the "full packs" from Costco when available.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

You don't say what printer you are using, or how much you print. If you are doing a lot, maybe take a look at continuous ink systems. Check it out?

Why so serious?

They do expire, but if left in the sealed wrapper they come in, should last you awhile. A couple years anyway.

They do expire. Make sure to check the expiration date if you buy in bulk. You should be okay if you use it within 6 mos.
