Do you friends ever joke around about you taking random street photos of people?

Now I nearly always have my camera with me and not to shy about taking peoples photos on the street. I have a couple friends who get embarrassed because I'm the "creepy photographer" that is just taking random shots of people. It's funny because we all could be walking down a sidewalk together, but as soon as I pull up my camera to take a photo of someone, they scatter! They think that I'm crossing over the line of being creepy because I take photos of random people. I like street photography, especially if I get a shot of someone before they know I'm photographing them. I get such a natural expressions sometimes.

So who else has friends who joke with you about this? What are you saying to them?

I feel bad for your friends. They are missing out on the joy of photography.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Well I don't take pictures of random people walking down the street. I will however stop to take a picture of a flower, while my friends are waiting for me, they are usually busy on their phones. lol

It only gets creepy when you start wearing urban camo like a phone booth costume or a mailbox to hide in. I sometimes take photos of someone taking a photo... and if I'm lucky that person is taking a photo of someone taking a photo. It only feels weird when someone takes a photo of me taking a photo of some random photographer taking a photo. Sorry - I got off topic. No my friends don't tease me. My friends fear me most of the time... :woohoo:
