Polarize filter sticks to lens and hard to unscrew off?

Do you ever have problem unscrewing your polarized filter from the lens? This happens often, is it OK to put a super light coat of grease on the threads of my polarized filter?

I would start with nose grease (skin oil wiped from the side of your nose). You don't want to get grease or oil all over your lens or filter.

:agree: nose grease

FYI from what I understand the less expensive polarized filters and the material used are the ones that stick more. I had the same problem with a cheapo Hoya filter, then I moved up to a B+W and it doesn't stick at all.

I used to keep a marigold (rubber glove from previous thread :) ) in my bag, always helped get them off without a problem :)

I have heard people who had problems with their filters sticking, knock on wood I have not had this issue yet. But I have heard not to spray any sort of lubricants on your camera gear.

If you are going to be using screw on filters, a filter wrench might just be a good inexpensive investment......

Why so serious?
