Are you showing client photos PRIOR to post processing?

I normally just give the client the photos after I have doctored them up. Gives me time to fix any mistakes that might have been my fault with camera settings, composition, etc. So there for they see only the professional results.

I have a client that wants to see her photos before I touch them in post processing. I'm not really excited about this, but this has always been my safety net to fix things that need fixing.

What would you do?

I never showed clients my negs. Why would I show them my raw files?

Nope never have. Treat the digital world as the film world. You don't show the client the negatives with film...why show them the digital negatives.

:agree: Somebody must have mentioned RAW to a novice so now they are an "expert". Kind of like asking your doctor to see your diseased gall bladder.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I know plenty of photographers over here that will not show clients an edited image until they decide to purchase ( its to time consuming to do it they say ). Part of me thinks that if they took the time to get things right before hand there would be no need for major editing for hours and hours?

Personally, I hate to show anything that is not "finished". But its only small "tweeks" that need doing usually.

Unless they have the knowledge and facility to see a raw image it would be useless to them any way, I would consider showing them a low resolution jpeg before editing as at most of my weddings or portrait shoots editing is very minimal.
Dont send them raw files as they could just work on them and take what they want so be careful it could be a ploy.
If you are unsure just say it isnt your policy and no can do.
