WIX website for photographers?

Am I reading this correctly? Is this a free website? If so what is the catch... nothing is for free.

Anyone have one of these WIX websites?

There are tons of free sites. Free hosting, free design. How this is done is, they advertise on your site. That is the difference between free and paying. Companies give you a subdomain (instead of you needing to buy your own domain) and you design the site using their software all for free. Ads will be place usually at the top of your site. Visitors to your site may click on that ad, the company gets money from that ad.

Every single site that is free, that has ads...that is how they get their money.

You don't want ads on your own site...then buy a domain, and pay for hosting.

Zenfolio is little bit expensive but its brilliant..nice web hosting option. If you decided to go for Zenfolio then you can use my discount codes which will give you some discount.

DELETED

good luck..

Will you please stop spamming. You posted many times, it makes you look desperate.

The OP didn't ask about Zenfolio, they ask about Wix, which I answered. So unless you can answer about wix, please stop posting your referral code for Zenfolio through out photography talk so you can gain $$$. It's rude. And if I had the power, I would delete you from this forum for spamming.

That's OK. I know it was just a misunderstanding. Be cool and enjoy PT.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I know im new to this site... and i actually only discovered Zenfolio through this forum... but i was actually considering using their service... and i had no idea i could get a promo code for discounts off the service

I realize its considered rude... he's trying to make some money off it.... especially if he's excessively spamming... but ive looked at most of his posts and this is only the second one ive seen? and they were both regarding image hosting. Now maybe im crazy... but the fact that someone else is making money while i save money is not a deterrent. im not going to pay full price simply because someone else will make a few dollars off my savings... ??

I have a wix site simply because I don't have the budget to pay for a site at this time. If so, I would probably use smugmug but, there are many options when it comes to pay sites
Wix has 2 options. 1 is free but it has ads, the other is not with no ads. You can take a look at my site to get a feel for their service. It's extremely user-friendly and they even have templates set up if you should choose to use one of their designs. Or you could design your own, as I have.
Here's the link to my wix site:

A photo is more than just a picture. It is a moment captured in time.
