Got message from client, their photo album from their wedding pages are coming apart?

They left me a message yesterday morning and I didn't get till late last night. I'm getting my facts together before calling them. Now they live near the ocean where there is high moisture. I still need to pull the details on the wedding book. It wasn't inexpensive, so I'm very surprised to hear about the pages coming apart.

Has this happened to anyone? I can't imagine this is normal? But is it something that could be a manufacture defect? I'm just hoping this will be a easy fix, this client has sent 2 other referrals to me since their wedding.

Def get the facts first, then contact the printer. A reputable publisher will replace a defective product. If the client is using the book as a dish drainer or leaving it outdoors, that would be a different story.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I don't see why it would be your problem. You didn't make the photo album, you just took the photos and I assume place the photos in the book. If anything, I would reorder another photo album and have them pay for the album. Or contact the company you ordered it from and explain the situation, maybe they will send another album to you at no charge.

It's never happened to me, but it's happened to friends of mine, and I see posts like this periodically. The album printer should have some sort of warranty and return/replacement policy. I would contact them. Depending on how they deal with the situation would determine whether I used them in the future or not.
