my rambling

I have been out shooting today and realize that my style hasn't changed in 20+ years Im thinking that this is bad have I not grown?

Going to school, family, work, etc... I just don't seem to have the time.. I think everyone has those problems.

I love my new 60D but with my old 35mm lens I realize that its not wide enough

I also realized that I need to format my camera to my syle

Perhaps a camera club, meetup group or workshop would help get the juices flowing. You didn't list your camera on your profile so hard to give advice there. Maybe pick up some extension tubes (if your camera will take them) and try some macro. That will get you revved.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I know money is always a problem so why not try to find some cheap second hand lenses to give you more scope

That's ok your style hasn't change. Your style is you. So many photographers struggle with developing their own style and you already have one. Work with it.

You will always have a style of photo you prefer more then others and thats a good thing. What changes may be the way you show the style. As far as the picutres poping relly try out diffrent appatures iso's and shutter speeds of the same photo. I would recommend and tohers may disagree two biggenr photo drills one is takeing a pictures of an egg from driffrent angels and lighting to test the limits of your camera. The other thing is try takeing photos of a boque of flowers of diffrent colors and try the diffrent settings see what colors your camera pics up best and how its reading the light around the flowers.
