What is in your camera bag?

12 years 7 months ago #150980 by MYoung
I hope this isn't a to broad of a question. I signed up here yesterday and shared that I just bought my first camera a Nikon D7000. I think I found my camera bag and lenses that I'm going to order. Rather than trying to figure out what else I should get. Would you mind me asking what is in your camera bag?

Please post what is your camera bag that you might need for outdoor photography. Nature and wildlife to general photography.

Thank you for your help pt :cheer:

Building a kit can be loads of fun. This type of question gets asked every month or so. Usually it is qualified in some way like asking what is the weirdest thing you carry, what is the personal item you just gotta have...

What are your needs? I think finding the answer to that is primary to what will I carry. This past summer I have added the following items for the camera.

1. Set of ND filters - in case I see a waterfall I want to time expose.
2. Graduated ND filter - for darkening the sky side while shooting sunsets.
3. Lens cloth and dust blower - for general maintenance.
4. Spare batteries and memory cards - I've been known to leave home without them - LOL

There is likely something else like a monopod - when it gets here. A light tripod for carry - for low light shots. Flash unit + batteries. Rain protection for gear.

Personal items might be anything. I found a spare hair band is essential. This summer I needed a small insect repellent canister. Bandanna, hand towel, copy of legal rights, cash, ID, business cards. Backup point and shoot... The list goes on and on and varies with each trip.

A BIG factor in deciding what I pack is whether my wife is going and is She willing to be my mule?
