What's your policy on spouse using your camera?

Hubby is already trying to use my new camera. I'm telling him to get his own  and he is replying back with "it's only a camera". :nunu:

This camera is like my new baby! I'm not sure I'm ready to let anyone borrow it yet. Plus the only lens I have till I order some is one that is borrowed from a friend of mine.

I'm just making chit chat and thought this might be a fun thread while I social butterfly myself around here. :P

Wife has her own point and shoot camera, she thinks my DSLR's are to heavy. So has no desire to use these.

If you had a new [human] baby, would you refuse to let him play with that too? ;)

I use our camera the majority of the time, but it was paid for with my wife's bonus - so I'm not going to say a word if she picks it up. :D (unless she does it wrong)

My wife is a great girl, and very sweet, but she is NOT allowed to touch my cameras, or my fishing reels........:)

(I don't let her drive my truck either);)

Why so serious?

A person, even a married person, has the right to some "personal property" of their own. Your husband' attitude of "It only a camera", it show how little respect he has for your property.
If he was a woodworking enthusiast and had a new saw, would he object to you using it to cut frozen meat. I don't think so. After 44 years of marriage, we have learned to respect each others personal "toys", ask if we can use them. and accept that the answer is sometimes NO.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

My husband and I both have our own cameras Nikon D7000. So in the end, if he had to use mine, it's fine and if I had to use his, that's fine too.

If my boyfriend wanted to use my camera, he may only with me there. At this moment, I don't trust him alone with the camera.

Jennifer has her D60 with the long and short kit lenses, she likes the fact that her camera is lighter. Sometimes I use hers, but she never wants to use my D70. I am looking forward to a body upgrade. :)

It is what it is.
