Do you photograph everything . . . or do you specialize?

I became interested in native masks when an Aunt gave me a book of masks of the world while I was still in grade school. I've been fascinated with them ever since and I spend my free time going to museums, galleries, art shows - wherever I can find masks to photograph.

Does anyone else have such a narrow photographic interest? Or do most of you shoot a wide range of subjects? Call me Just Curious.

I don't know if I'm as dedicated to one subject as you are, but I understand where you're coming from, I think. I particularly enjoy taking photos of fresh produce and fruit for some reason. I've been known to stop at roadside fruitstands to take photos and even to walk into a farmer's fields and take shots. I like to set up elaborate still lifes in my kitchen, too.

Your focus is probably more narrow than many photographers ... but who cares ... It's what you like to do ... that's all that matters. I personally prefer wildlife but will attempt to photograph just about anything

Why limit yourself to one area, when there are so many areas to photograph?

I pretty much photograph everything. I shoot more nature, but I have done portraits, pets, a wedding, events, and a band.

I most enjoy wildlife shots but find that shooting different subjects opens my eyes to new possibilities. Look around, get close, get far away, get low, get high (elevation), watch people, watch pets. There is a big world out there, and a tiny one.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
