I'll bite, how does a tilt shift lenses do this? To me it looks like a straight up video, or photos taken one second after another?

It probably is a video, or a stop animation video. A lot of DSLR's have high def video on them now.

Tilt-shift lenses are made to correct the plane of distortion so you can obtain more in focus with thinner depth of fields. Such as correcting buildings from leaning, and all kinds of goodies. This is one of the side effects you can obtain with those lenses.

I see, that makes sense. To bad these lenses are pretty pricey.

Awsome! The split-bokeh effect makes the construction scenes look like stop-motion animation with models, almost as if the camera was 2 feet away from a set. I've always wanted to experiment with a tilt shift too. Sometime I'll get one
