I agree about the personality issue. Our cat loves to hide under covers and just doesn't care about the camera. One of our Goldens doesn't mind but if you get down low comes running over. The other Golden seems to be afraid of the camera so that one gets the telephoto treatment from across the yard.cwightmanphotos wrote: I have photograph both. IMO, it does all depend on the individual pet. Each one has their own personality.
Personally I like taking pictures of dogs more then cats. Dogs are more active, more playful, more able to get a personality shot. Most cats you get them laying around, unless you actively play with them. And then, with dogs there are the down times, which are nice too. The time were they just sit there, looking out the window. Or lay next to their toy after getting done playing with it.

I agree I believe dogs are easier to control and keep their attentionJohnnie wrote: They are some beautiful dogs! however, to answer the question, I believe that dogs are much easier to photograph. We did a pet day and I can tell you that the dogs where far easier to control and to keep thier attention for the photo. I love kittens and cats but to photograph them on demand is a little difficult.
