You would have to call around. I think adorama does a government rate, but I doubt that would apply to private use. I am air force as well, just tell your friend to grab one from the bx/px/base exchange. Probably get it cheaper than elsewhere (they will price match as well) plus no tax.

Nikon D200
Nikon 50mm f1.8D, Tokina 28-80 f2.8, Nikon 75-300, Sigma 18-200, Nikon SB-600, Nikon SB-25, Promaster triggers

That's a good question, I would try B&H and Adorama. Some of the smaller shops may offer a discount, but their over all prices might not be as low as normal prices at larger retailers.

Still can't hurt to check around.

Tell him to check out AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange) and NEX (Navy Exchange) both have a great selection of DSLRs and accessories. Both offer online shopping as well as having brick & mortar stores on every base stateside & overseas. I shop NEX for anything electronic - TV's, Computers, Cameras, etc. no one can beat their military pricing on electronics if you have access to them.

Remind him before ordering from another website (not military related) to check first that they even ship to APO/AFO addresses (military installations overseas) most US companies do not unfortunately. :(
