How much do you have invested in your photography equipment?

I'm sitting here   over my photography magazines looking at all the things I would like to get, and you know what? This stuff can add up very quickly! As I'm sure many of you know to well. I'm curious, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you have invested into photography equipment?

Too much to ponder from over the years starting with a Vivitar SLR to Pentax ME Super, to EOS Rebel to XT to XSi plus the lenses, bags, packs, remotes, GPS, tripods, monopods, Agfa, Fuji and Panasonic P&S models and whatever else. Scares me when I think about it even if I don't have top of the line pro gear. :woohoo:

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Well If I added up everything it would be a lot. But right now I have a bit over $10,000USD worth.

Around $10,000
That's just mine, my husband is also into photography. Although he doesn't have all the same equipment I have. He does have the same camera, bag and two lenses I have. So I will have to include at least $8,000 for him, because we upgrade together on cameras and it all comes out of his paycheck. :) Just like we both want the Nikon D7000, but that's not happening any time soon.

I have no idea, but off top of my head it doesn't take much to get over $10,000 these days!

It's actually important to know how much you have invested in your camera gear ... for insurance reasons, etc. I keep a list of each item, with model and serial numbers, receipts for amount paid. It might be difficult to file an insurance claim with a response of .... about $ XXXX.XX value.

Right now the value of my gear is $22,233.74

How much of that have you got back by selling stuff though?

I mean is the $25k the total amount you've spent or the value of what you own right now.

If I added up all the $$ I've spent over the years I'd probably go over $30,000USD I'd guess. But lot of that I got back by selling gear.
