Do you use any primes during wedding ceremonies?

Just had a self realization moment. I don't use primes at all for wedding work  I would be curious if there are people here that use a prime's during ceremonies. Better yet, have you ever met a photographer that shoots weddings exclusively with primes?

For me using a prime means risking not getting the shot I need.

I mainly do civil weddings, which are really short and you don't have a lot of space. I have to make sure I get the shot I need so I need flash and a semi deep DOF.

However, if I were doing a ceremony where I could move around more and take more artistic shots, I would try using primes perhaps.

I've used primes as part of my kit for certain weddings- it depends on the size of the church/venue and the size of the wedding party/families. Bridal portraits do well with primes.

After a little thought, a second body with a 135mm or 85mm would be nice

:agree: I regularly do that whenver shooting a group affair. But I mount an85mm f/1.4 or a 135mm f/2 on the FX body, and keep the zooms on the DX

My main rig almost always has an f/2.8 zoom on it, but I do carry a few primes, and sometimes they go on a second body that I'll carry around and shoot without flash. Whether or not I use them in a ceremony depends on the spacing and the lighting.

I always carry 2 bodies for weddings. During the ceremony I like to have one with a fast zoom (24-70 or 70-200 f/2.8 depending on the shot and my location) and the other with a 135 f/2L, which just might be the sharpest prime ever. Between me and my 2nd shooter, I like to make sure one of us has that lens on a body at all times.
