Why do people hide their EXIF data?

Is there any reason why someone would hide their photos EXIF data? I like looking at photos so I can see how they might have been taken, so when I don't see any data, I wonder why. It's not like they are hiding anything that is going to steal business from them. Care to add your thoughts on this?

For some reason unknown to me, after I'm done editing a file in Lightroom 4, the EXIF info is scrubbed. Kinda a mystery to me too....

It is what it is.

You someone was telling me about Photoshop doing that too? You would expect that Adobe would allow that data to pass on through.

Some people have a look they do not want copied.

It's common practice for editors to keep the EXIF in tact with the File / Save As command. But scrub EXIF with the File / Save For Web command. All within the same editor. So I never use Save For Web.

There seems to be a simple remedy. Why not ask? I think most people are forthcoming when asked, and I doubt the bare EXIF info would be enough to be able to copy someone's style and polish. Most of that is obtained in post processing, and the details of that are not likely to be shared.

I always save with exif intact, but when you post at this site, right click is disabled. I wish they would let us view the info.....B)

Why so serious?
