Model release form?

I should know this, but if you are submitting a photo of a random car from a car show or just from where ever to a magazine to be included for print, do you need permission from the car's owner or model/car release form?

I really appreciate your help, but none of those don't say anything about photos of random cars. What I'm looking to find out is if I take a photo of your car and I try to sell that photo to magazine (or where ever) or submit that photo to a magazine to be published. Legally would I need to get some sort of release from you the car owner prior?

This sounds like a question for the magazine. They would probably like more information about the vehicle, including owner.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I haven't contacted a magazine yet, but had some good photo opportunities with some cars. Just thought I would check ahead of things first.

I have a few car photos, posted some and have always obscured the license plate. I think that would be the only issue....

Yes I believe you do have to have a release for a car as you do for say someones house or themselves. Most people would like to know as well that their car would be in a publication so, I dont see getting one as a problem.

A car is like a private property...land.
If you took a picture of somone's land you need that person to sign a release form to be able to use the picture besides it being in your portfolio.
So, about the car...yes you will need a release form. A property release fom. Not model release form.
