How much to charge for 4 hour baby shower photography?

Honestly, I've never done one of these. Would you charge the same as your wedding rates, or how would price this?

I would charge a flat rate that would be equivalent to 5 hours time

What are you doing with the images? Turning over digital version, creating an album, what? How much PP will you do? You'll want to take all of your time into account to figure out your half-day rate (as that's what this situation really is). Will you be able to schedule anything else the remainder of this day, or would the entire day be considered taken up? Would you use non-shower time for PP for this or other jobs, for example?

Thank you for the response. I'm not sure on some of your questions as I'm meeting up with the mother and a couple of her friends this weekend to discuss. I was trying to do some fact finding before hand. I think the half day rate seems like a good idea. Will see how it goes this weekend and I'll post on Monday. Thanks again!
