You won't believe what I ran over yesterday!

Running a large photography community, I see and hear everything. Photographers love to share details about everything under the sun. So... I had heard about these SKB cases getting dropped from helicopters from 30' up with 50lbs of gear in them and nothing wrong with them or the gear inside of them. Hearing about these cases getting submerged under water for a week, and yet the contents inside were completely dry. We aren't talking about a Big Foot sightings, these are testimonials that sounded plausible. To find out, these cases are made right in Orange, CA! Field trip! So I coordinated with the folks at SKB Cases to see if OK to visit and see how these cases were made. I ended up visiting them yesterday and floored with how these things are made. Nothing short of amazing (stay tuned for upcoming article with photos). While there, I'm asking all sorts of questions about the durability of these cases based on what I had been hearing from photographers who compared these cases to Pelican cases that had failed them. Photographers seem to love these SKB Cases because they were so durable. While discussing this, my tour guide at SKB made a comment that you could drive a car over one of their cases and the case could handle it. "Really, I would like to see this" - I said. And with out asking me what I drove, nor flinching, my tour guide offered me the opportunity to run one of their cases over. I replied with GREAT! (thinking my 5,000lb pig of a SUV would destroy their case   ).

Rather than boring you further... I'll let the photos talk:

I'm disappointed, I was thinking I was going to witness some destruction! Walking away from this, I have profound appreciation for the durability of these cases. Hands down, these guys get big recommendations from me. Want to keep your camera gear safe? Check out these cases for yourself HERE.

Thank you for making PhotographyTalk.com your photography community of choice.

How customization are those interiors? In a hard case I would rather see foam vs Velcro

Great demo - but don't try this at home. :toocrazy:

Is that a Trail-rated GC? :P

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
