Big Cameras Make you look MORE Pro!?

Came across this video and I thought this it was interesting to post. I've heard photographers before with this 'size of camera' matters for scoring points as a "Professional Photographer". You know this happens, people buy much more camera then they need, just to warp peoples (clients) perception of how good they are as a photographer. Watch what this guy says and post your opinion about this.

Can't understand anything he's saying. Sounds like he's in a bucket. That three part screen doesn't do anything other than to distract.

I didn't watch the video, but I'll compare that to a chef that uses big onions. All is good until someone starts eating the entree, no?

Why so serious?

Yeah I have the big camera to attract the women. If I slap on a big lens then it is like the Axe ads on TV so I have to use my monopod to keep them off of me.

Video is horrible, but to address the point I only buy what I need to my job if the camera is big then so be it. It really comes down to your images not the size of your equipment.

Add a battery grip. That looks impressive - and don't forget the lens hood :rolleyes

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

He's not wrong. Customers expect you to have good gear. Funny enough, you turn up to a shoot with a Leica M and $10,000 USD lenses (and the client doesn't know it) the Client might be mad.

I agree about battery grips. That can be enough to impress people. But are you suggesting lens hoods are just for show?

Nope. Use them ALL the time. Do not see many who do, though..
You could stencil "PRO" on your lens hood :toocrazy: I think I will get a T-shirt with "OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER" on the back.
