Police Threatened Photographer

Passing time and after a run in last week my self with officer telling me I couldn't take photos on a bridge.  I was looking around at various news reports of police having somewhat unscrupulous behavior toward a photographer and came across this: http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2013/07/31/police-threatened-to-arrest-me-for-taking-their-photo-last-night

It's rather interesting.

It's rather interesting. 


The DOJ issued a letter to the City of Baltimore about just this sort of interference with a citizen's rights.

If you think photographers are the only group being denied "rights", you've possibly been in a coma. We have a constitution, if part of it is no good, the whole thing is rubbish. We are appointing and electing the WRONG people to police, judge and lead us, me thinks, the DOJ is foremost on my mind in making that charge....:angry:

That's such crap but sadly not the first time I've heard of it. People always say you have the right to take pictures of cops, ask their name, get their badge ID, and stuff like that, but they command with such authority that it's a really scary situation to be in. I used to be a journalist on my college campus and got yelled at by campus cops for snapping pictures of them dealing with tree sitters.
