Where are the best places in North America for variety of bird photography?

Just curious where in North America has the best reputation for photographing birds?  We have some vacation time coming up and planing some traveling for this summer.   Just not sure where we will be heading, would be nice to go somewhere that is rich with photo opportunities with birds.

Exact location would be great, other wise city and state would be good.  Thank you

Add southern Arizona (use Tucson as your base).  Dunno about other parts of the USA.

Depends on the type of birds. Florida is great because there is a huge amount of variety. California and the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Canada) have a lot of variety as well.

I'm not surprised Florida is top on that list,  certain areas of Canada above Washington is really good and Alaska too.

LOL  Florida is a jungle!  Birds love that climate, so do old people.

There's a reason that old retirees who travel from snowy regions are often referred to as "snow birds."  lol

I know Florida has already been mentioned a lot, but I want to specifically narrow that down to the Everglades. I've never seen so much exotic wildlife before. But I was born and raised a city girl so my perspective may be skewed lol

Gonna second the Everglades. If you take one of those airboat tours you get to go out deep into the swamp and see some cool stuff. Beware of water getting kicked up onto your equipment though. Those things ride pretty low and close to the water.
