I was just reading the histories on some of these, very interested.   Some of these are amazing.  Didn't they use one of these for the movie Xmen?

Now I might be wrong, but does it look like there are more castles in France than other locations?

spent three years in Germany in the service. Castle's all over. I only saw a few that weren't falling down pretty good. One of my favorite's was the Frankenstein Castle, yes it doe's exist. The dungeon's were caved in to keep people out of them. And in 1966, the place was in ruin but still loved that one. Heidelberg Castle was going strong then. huge tourist trap. But it was really a neat place. Well on down the river near an Army base was another that was nice but run down. They have in it what they claim to be King Richards crown, thick glass case. I'm not sure I buy that. On the way there you pass another old castle that is ruins. Not a lot left in 1966 but still interesting. The cathedral in Worm's is worth the trip to Europe. Absolutely stunning place. It's where martin Luther got put out of the church. His residence is still there and open to go into.

What I saw in Germany, I'd like to go to Ireland, Scotland and Tuscany to see their castle's. maybe even better than the castle's were the old small towns. Have to get away from the city's. Stunning places. Out driving around one time we found a Natzi grave yard. Many of the graves still had helmet's on the swastikas. I suspect that you can find these things all over Europe. I heard of a tavern still in used in Ireland that is over 600 yrs old!

My son took a trip through Eastern Europe (including Transylvania) and saw some really cool castles for great history.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
