The rep was doing his job, but should have walked away much earlier in the call.

General rule of thumb in customer service:  make an offer, if the customer says no, ask why (once) so you can make them a more reasonable offer based on their response, if the customer still says no, cut your losses and leave it be.

This guy refused to take no for an answer and asked the dude "why" more frequently than a two-year-old who has been denied their daily ration of candy.  He was not doing his job, he was wasting the time of everyone involved

Um, perhaps doing his job but not very well. He probably gets evaluated on customer retention, which would be a corporate problem.

They guy is an ass, and clearly has poor interpersonal skills.

You can ask to speak with a supervisor (or they may offer that option), sometimes customer service reps seemed limited in what they've been trained to do, and certainly if your interaction is becoming problematic it might be worth ending the call and calling back to speak to someone else or a supervisor.

I saw this on Huff Post yesterday, this guy either got a metal from Comcast or got fired.

Rude if you ask me!
